This building is one of the largest auditorium in any university in Chennai with a seating capacity of 1800 people. At 12m height, air-conditioning this building was a challenging task. The central area of 30m X 30m has no intermediate support, making it an effective large span structure in concrete with a 3m X 3m coffer slab. Similarly, acoustic treatment of all surfaces were carefully done to ensure better sound performance within the building. In addition to the auditorium, there are 3 seminar halls within the building.
